asobi, a 6-member crossover band fronted by three MCs, returns with their first digital single in six months: “Make a Move.” Following the release of their debut full album JUNCTION—featuring 12 tracks including the web CM hit “Hurts So Good” for Yamazaki’s tower series and the lead single “Dolphin Dance”—the group continues to push boundaries in genre and sound.
“Make a Move” is a vibrant, emotional club-pop track woven with the voices of three MCs, dancing between lyrical flows and colorful melodies. It’s a call to action—don’t stay still, make a move. One listen might just make the world look a little more colorful.
As always, asobi delivers a unique sonic world through its blend of intricate lyrics, live instruments, and layered track production—a sound that only they can create, and one that continues to grow its loyal following.
[Profile]
Formed by six musicians who met through a university music circle at Waseda, asobi came together post-graduation to form a genre-defying band. The name “asobi” stems from the Japanese word for “play,” reflecting their laid-back, passion-driven beginnings.
In June 2020, they released their first 3-track single asobi. Their follow-up EP Empty Room for Two gained playlist attention and radio traction, leading to power plays across major FM stations. With consistent live shows across Tokyo and beyond, their momentum continued to build.
In January 2025, the band released their first full album JUNCTION, which included “Hurts So Good” (featured in Yamazaki’s tower CM) and “Dolphin Dance.” The album was supported by their first solo tour across Tokyo and Osaka, with a sold-out show at Shibuya WWW.
With three MCs weaving bars over genre-bending tracks rich in sonic layers and live instrumentation, asobi continues to develop a distinctive sound that resonates widely.
